Gasthof Sonneck is situated in the middle of the Salzburgerland, Austria. It has its own Skiresort Werfenweng which is ideal for families. But we are very close to all the big ski-resorts of the Salzburgerland like Mühlbach am Hochkönig, St. Johann Alpendorf, Waigrain, Flachau, Altenmarkt/Zauchensee and Obertauern.
During the summer it is a perfect place to go for a long mountain-walk or just a short walk. There are organised bike-tours and not to forget 15 golfcourses all within 40 minutes drive from here (the two nearest 15 minutes). Gasthof Sonneck has its own outdoor-swimmingpool and a big terrace with the most beautiful view on the Hochkönig.
We are ideal for people driving through to Croatia and Italy because we are just away of the highway and here you can have a rest and a good meal. Besides all common sightseeing (like the Ice-caves and the castle Hohe Werfen) you can do duo-paragliding or rafting on the Salzach.

Eager to make you feel at home, we will do our best to make you feel comfortable at any time.
Relax in our pool, enjoy the warmth of the sun and leave your daily life behind.
In the evening we serve fine dinners in our à la carte restaurant, now with solid oak tables.
Since late 2006, the hotel now also boasts a lounge area. Including a small bar area, you can now relax with a drink amid sofas, chairs and barstools. An electronic dart board provides the entertainment, complemented by a small library and wide selection of games.

All rooms are fitted with a shower and toilet. In October 2006, each room was fully redecorated and provided with new curtains and pictures.
Extra beds are only available on request.
Most rooms include a balcony, offering a beautiful view of the mountains.

Each morning a wonderful breakfast buffet is served in our restaurant, getting your day's exploration of Werfenweng off to an ideal start.
An excellent à la carte restaurant serves both Austrian and international cuisine. During the winter main season, your dining experience will be enhanced once a week by live Austrian music.
In the period on from 15 December till 15 April the prices include Half Board, breakfast and 4-course dinner are included.
ТЕРРИТОРИЯ
We located in the middle of the Salzburgerland. Here you are in an excellent location for sightseeing. The ice caves (Eisriesenwelt) are 15 minutes away by car, Werfen Castle (Burg Hohewerfen) is 10 minutes by car and even Salzburg is only half an hour away.
The Werfenweng ski resort is only 4 minutes away by car or you can take the ski bus which stops at the hotel every half an hour. We will be happy to take you to other resorts and points of interest and even offer guided tours.
In the summer the area is a golfers' paradise with 15 golf courses nearby. The closest is Radstadt, a 20 minute drive away. We will be happy to drive you to the course and collect you so that you can drink on the '19th hole'.

By car:
For those with satellite navigation, please enter "Rosenwaldweg 20, Pfarrwerfen".
From the A10 (Salzburg - Villach):
- Exit the A10 via signs for Werfen.
- Head towards Bischofshofen (Pfarrwerfen).
- After approximately 200 m on the interstate road, turn left.
- Proceed over the bridge and railway in the direction of Pfarrwerfen and continue on to Werfenweng.
- After 6 km turn right at "Grüß Gott Werfenweng" and the Gasthof Sonneck is just in front of you.
From A10 (Villach - Salzburg):
- Exit the A10 via signs for Werfenweng (Pfarrwerfen / Werfen).
- Turn right and head in the direction of Werfenweng.
- After 5 km turn right at "Grüß Gott Werfenweng" and the Gasthof Sonneck
is just in front of you.
By train / air:
If travelling by train or air, the hotel can arrange for you to be collected from either the train station or Salzburg airport. Please notify the hotel at the time of booking, or at least 1 week before arrival. There are additional costs for collection from Salzburg, please consult the hotel after booking.
