This beautifully preserved building is 5 miles (8 km) from London Stansted Airport and is next to a traditional country pub. It offers transfers, free Wi-Fi and en suite rooms. Bonningtons Bed and Breakfast has a quiet location and is 2 miles (3.2 km) from Bishops Stortford Rail Station. Trains to London Stansted Airport take less than 15 minutes. Bonningtons offers transfers to the airport or the station from 07:00 until 11:00 and from 16:00 until 21:00 (subject to availability). Long-term parking is also available. The rooms are in a converted barn, away from the main building. Each room has its own private entrance. Guests are welcome to check in from 16:00. A continental buffet breakfast is available each day. The nearby country inn serves lunchtime and evening meals.

ОТЕЛЬ

The precise age of Bonningtons is not known, however 1st records originate from the early 1600s, so it is likely that the house predates this by a few years indicating a very late 16th century or early 17th century property. It is now a grade II listed building with a number of key listed features.

Records are not precise but at some stage the property was acquired by the Houblon's Hallingbury estate. Bonningtons itself was reportedly the home of the estate manager. The estate itself also included Hatfield Forest. It was Jacob Houblon that created the current lake to be found in the centre of the forest, some time around 1740.

Jacobs son further enhanced the estate and forest around 1770 with the consultation of the famous landscaper Capability Brown adding further exotic trees and some areas opened up to improve the views. The lake itself was also altered at this time.

All rooms are located separate to the main dwelling in our converted barn/coach house (thus allowing complete privacy for guests).

Each room has its own entrance/exit door with key to the outside, this allows for late arrivals and early morning departures, and trips to the local pub opposite.

All rooms have full en suite facilities with a bathroom that contains a toilet, sink and either a bath or power shower. Towels are supplied.

All rooms are and always have been fully non-smoking. All have an interconnected smoke detection/fire alarm system with emergency lighting to the same specifications as hotels.

All rooms have soundproofing between rooms. This has been fully inspected and approved and again complies with the latest government regulations for sound transmission to the same standard as hotels.

Dawn to dusk external lighting applies around the complete site, complying with the latest regulations on energy conservation, similarly all other lighting utilises low energy consumption.

With self-controlled heating in all rooms, you can make yourself comfortable before making a tea or coffee and relaxing in front of the TV.

ПИТАНИЕ

Continental breakfast is available, which can be taken at any time in the self-service breakfast area.

There is choice of cereals, bread or toast, preserves and marmalade, fresh orange juice (not from concentrate), yoghurt, pastries, fresh fruit, and tea or coffee.

Lunchtime and evening meals can be taken in the George pub, located on the opposite side of the green, around 75 metres away.

A free drink is available at another local pub, The Three Horseshoes, when ordering any main course meal.

Located on a village green, Bonningtons is adjacent to The George, a pub renowned locally for its quality and generous portions for lunchtime and evening meals.

Only 3.2 km (2 miles) from Bishops Stortford station, Bonningtons also gives access to central London within 35 minutes. This also offers a connection to Cambridge in around 30 minutes.

Only 10 minutes from London's Stansted Airport.

By Car:
- Exit the M11 at junction 8. Make sure that you take the local exit (Bishops Stortford) not the A120 into the airport.
- Take the B1256 exit from the M11 roundabout, signposted Takely.
- After approximately 100 metres there is a petrol station on your left. Take the turning immediately opposite, signposted Great/Little Hallingbury.
- Follow this country road for about 2.5 miles (around 5 minutes).
- You will then come to a T-junction. Turn left onto the A1060 into Little Hallingbury.
- After approximately 500 metres, the George pub will be on your left.
- Take the small lane immediately to your right, this is Dell Lane. After 20 metres the hotel’s drive is on the right-hand side.

Bonningtons does not accept groups bookings of more than 6 guests.

The property is closed for check-in from 11:00 to 16:00.

Transfers to Bishops Stortford Rail Station or Stansted Airport are usually available from 07:00 until 11:00. Collections are usually between 16:00 and 21:00. Transfers are for a maximum of 4-5 people and should be arranged with Bonningtons before arrival.

Due to recently introduced Stansted Airport charges a small fee will be required for airport pick ups. Guests must be ready for pick ups.
