Castle Howard (17.5 km / 11 miles) - set in an elevated position, against the Howardian Hills in the North Riding of Yorkshire, Castle Howard's magnificent facade is visible for miles around. The largest house in Yorkshire, it has been the home of the Howard family since the 17th century.

- Exit the A64 at the roundabout onto the A1237.
- Continue over the next roundabout onto the A1036 (Malton Road).
- Take the 1st left into Hopgrove Lane.
- Turn left at the end into Stockton Lane.
- Continue straight on into Stockton-on-the-Forest. Church View is on the same road (The Village).

By Air (from Leeds / Bradford International Airport, 45.5 km / 28 miles):
Take the Air Coach service to York, from stand 5, outside the departure hall. This will drop you off at York Railway Station. Bus services from here to Stockton-on-the-Forest are available - see below.
By Public Transport (from York Railway Station, 8 km / 5 miles):
The 840 (to Whitby), 843 (to Scarborough) and 845 (to Bridlington) bus services all stop every 30 minutes (hourly on Sundays), at York Railway Station. These will take you to Stockton-on-the-Forest. The bus will stop outside The Fox Inn public house, which is 3 properties along from Church View.
